Join myself and fellow plant lovers on an afternoon walk to explore all of the wonderful medicinal plants at Patchwork Farm in Humboldt Park!

"Chicago Patchwork Farms is a collective of farmers and sites across Chicago, with the mission of growing nutritionally dense produce while fostering community for all of our city’s people. We are committed to using regenerative, organic farming practices to grow food with the lowest environmental impact, while creating healthy spaces for native ecology to flourish. Through the use of natural fertilizer, pest management, and perennial polyculture systems we steward our land in a way that provides a healthy home for all our native being friends that sing, buzz, and bloom all around us."

As a result of all the hard work farmers and volunteers have put into the Chicago Ave location, we are fortunate to have a robust space to explore a variety of medicinal plants and their uses to promote health and well-being.

A portion of all proceeds is donated directly to Patchwork Farms.

2023 Plant Walk Dates:

  • Sunday, July 16 from 1-3:30pm
  • Sunday, August 20 from 1-3:30pm
  • Sunday, September 24 from 1-3:30pm

Those who attend plant walks will also receive extensive notes related to the plants we explored at our walk, and a primer on actions & energetics in western herbalism (so you can know how to utilize the plants for yourself or community with nuance and finesse) after our walk.

We end all walks with a tea tasting and Q&A session.

Each walk will take place on a Sunday (of your choosing) from 1-3:30pm.

There are only 15 spots available per walk.

Patchwork Farms is located at 2825 W Chicago Ave, Chicago, IL 60622.

Street parking is available at this location. The link above will show you our precise meeting location (east side of farm through the gate next to Feed).

There is also a compost toilet that is quite rustic (but not too shabby) at the rear of the farm available for use by all participants.

Additional details will be emailed to all participants 3-5 days before the walk takes place. Please add alex@firstcurveapothecary.com to your contacts so emails related to the walk don't get sent to your spam folder.

Note that plant walks will be cancelled and fully refunded if there are not enough participants, so please tell your friends! Plant walks are also cancelled and fully refunded in the event of extreme weather conditions. That said, plant walks will not be cancelled/refunded if there is only light or intermittent rain, we will still go out in these instances.
