First Curve Apothecary began as a small herbal products company in 2019 by clinical herbalist and educator, Alex Williams. Since then, our apothecary has grown extensively, and we are excited to share over 200 herbal extracts and dried herbs with you in support of your client’s health and wellness goals.
With an extensive cocktail and culinary background prior to training as a clinical herbalist, and nearly a decade of custom formulation experience, Alex brings a unique perspective to the art of formulation with a discerning hand and the utmost attention to detail given to compounding and dispensing for your clients.
If you are an herbalist, nutritionist, dietitian, naturopath, or other holistic health practitioner, and do not have the time, capacity, or inventory to dispense and blend custom formulas for your clients, we are here for you and are excited to be able to offer high-quality extracts and bulk herbs for you to offer in your clinical practice.
About our herbs, extracts, and process
- We do our best to source our herbs from small, local farms that employ organic cultivation practices, or are ethically wildcrafted. We follow the guidelines of the United Plant Savers and do not stock plants on their At-Risk list unless we can identify cultivated or regenerative sources. - Our extracts are made with certified organic cane alcohol, certified organic vegetable glycerine, certified organic cold-pressed sunflower oil, certified organic cold-press extra virgin olive oil, or certified organic raw apple cider vinegar, and clean spring or distilled water.
- Extracts that we do not prepare in house are sourced from trusted manufacturers such as Herbalist & Alchemist, Galen's Way, and Sandhill Botanicals.
- All in-house extracts are manufactured following rigorous quality control standards and cGMPs (Current Good Manufacturing Practices).
- Custom formulas are dispensed in the same commercial facility that we manufacture our extracts following clear standard operating procedures to ensure quality control across every step of the compounding and dispensing process.

Please note that the process outlined in the link below is for practitioners who expect to order less than 15 custom formulas per month. Practitioners who expect to order more than 15 custom formulas per month will have a dedicated dashboard built for their practice that streamlines the ordering process and allows clients to request custom formula refills.
